Per curiosità, ho eseguito GNUddrescue
su un disco rigido Seagate ST1000LM024 HN-M101MBB con settori danneggiati noti, quindi ho visualizzato il ddrescue
file di mappa con ddrescueview .
Quando ho ingrandito, è apparso questo modello interessante:
Gli spazi verdi (settori buoni contigui) sono spesso 2440 settori logici (1249280 byte) di grandi dimensioni e le sezioni rosse (settori danneggiati e probabilmente danneggiati fisicamente) sono quasi sempre 1 settore fisico (4 settori logici, 4096 byte) di grandi dimensioni.
Tenendo presente questo schema, ho fatto un calcolo per stimare quanti settori sarebbero stati in pista. Il disco rigido gira 5400 rotations per minute
, la velocità di lettura sostenuta in quella parte del disco è circa 109 mebibytes per second
(l'ho testato su un disco dello stesso modello senza settori danneggiati), una traccia gira 360 degrees
e un settore logico 512 bytes
.
((109MiB/s / 5400rpm * 360 degrees) / 512 bytes) = 2480
La stima mostra che ci sono circa 2480 settori logici nella traccia interessata. Il modello si verifica ogni 2444 settori logici .
Ciò suggerisce che il danno fisico sembra una striscia molto sottile che si dirige verso l'interno praticamente tangente al cerchio del piatto. La striscia sottile si adatta in un arco inferiore a 0.001639°
. Questo danno, qualunque esso sia, sembra essere uno squarcio microscopico.
Ci sono altre caratteristiche del modello che non riesco proprio a capire.
- I settori danneggiati esistono solo nel primo 1 / 6 della trasmissione, i bordi esterni, senza chiaro modello di cui appaiono le bande di modelli.
- Gli schemi non sembrano essere un lungo squarcio; sono più simili a una linea tratteggiata / tratteggiata ("┋"):
Perché il danno dovrebbe apparire così? Cosa potrebbe creare un modello di danno così ordinato?
