Come installare l'ambiente desktop Xfce?

Ho letto questo post Come posso passare a Xubuntu? , ma mi dice di installare xubuntu-desktop.

Posso installare Xfce (solo)? Voglio dire, non voglio installare alcuna applicazione che non sia correlata al desktop Xfce, ma diventi dipendenza xubuntu-desktop, come abiword, gthumb, ecc. Quale pacchetto dovrei installare?

Consiglierei anche di installare il xubuntu-default-settingspacchetto, che ti darà l'aspetto di Xubuntu, senza le applicazioni extra.

Posso fare lo stesso anche per altri ambienti desktop?

xfce può essere installato dal terminale di default usando il seguente comando:

sudo apt-get install xfce4

E per installare gli oggetti (programmi extra, plugin e grafica), il comando è:

sudo apt-get install xfce4-goodies

Inserisci la tua password quando richiesto.

sudo apt-get install xfce-goodiesnon funziona per me, penso che debba essere sudo apt-get install xfce4-goodies.

Per installare l'ultima versione di Xfce 4.12 su Ubuntu 14.04 e 15.04:

Apri il terminale ed esegui i seguenti comandi:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xubuntu-dev/xfce-4.12
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install xfce4

Ecco l'output dei comandi,

ravan@ravan:~$ sudo apt-get install xfce4

Per disinstallare PPA:

sudo apt-get install ppa-purge

Preferisco usare la riga di comando, ma puoi anche installare Xfce da Synaptic, basta digitare "xfce4" nella barra di ricerca, selezionare tutto ciò che riguarda Xfce, quindi fare clic su "Applica" per installare.
