Sto eseguendo un Ubuntu 12.04, ho configurato "ssmtp" con il mio account Gmail e ora ricevo ogni ora un'e-mail con un rapporto, questo è un esempio:

Ho commentato la riga 17 * * * * root cd / && run-parts --report /etc/cron.hourly, ma l'e-mail è ancora in arrivo.

Aggiungi qui sotto a /etc/crontab

MAILTO=""

per impedire a crontab di inviare e-mail, modificare completamente /etc/sysconfig/cronde aggiungere questo CRONDARGS='-m off'.
Salvare e riavviare crond.

Sembra che questa riga debba essere aggiunta ad ogni file crontab che si desidera mettere a tacere, (almeno dai miei test). attenzione anche al fatto che i cron dell'utente vivono altrove: serverfault.com/a/325344/210994

Quando cron avvia un processo, acquisisce qualsiasi output che raggiunge stdout e stderr e lo invia tramite e-mail. Per evitare queste e-mail, puoi reindirizzare lo stdout e lo stderr, a un file di registro che controlli, o / dev / null, se non ti interessa.

Mi piace questa risposta perché può disabilitare la posta per un lavoro specifico, piuttosto che MAILTO = "" che disabiliterebbe tutta la posta cron.
