Come posso ottenere xrandr per rilevare entrambe le schede nvidia: 2 x GTX480, triple-head?

• Sto eseguendo Linux Mint 16 (Petra)
• Sto eseguendo il driver predefinito NVIDIA-319 fornito con la distribuzione
• Ho 2 schede GTX480
• Ho 3 monitor
• Utilizzando il driver Nvidia, tutti i monitor e le GPU vengono raccolti dall'utilità proprietaria.

Tuttavia, analogamente al rapporto su https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/719768/linux/304-121-ubuntu-14-04-xrandr-1-4-multi-gpu-not-being-detected / quando eseguo xrandr --listproviders mi viene mostrato solo un singolo provider: la prima carta. Ho xrandr 1.4, quindi dovrei essere in grado di vedere entrambi. Se imposto una schermata X separata e poi eseguo xrandr --listproviders --screen 1, posso vedere la seconda scheda. Tuttavia, non voglio più schermi X; Voglio essere in grado di fluire senza soluzione di continuità tra i monitor.

Non voglio eseguire xinerama in quanto è un dolore al collo da installare e dovrebbe essere sostituito da xrandr.

Utilizzando il driver nouveau posso usare tutte e tre le schermate esattamente come vorrei, ma le prestazioni non sono buone.

Martin - Configurazione molto simile dalla mia parte, tranne con un paio di nvidia GT9800 - circa 2008 !. La correzione del Santo Graal per me ieri sera è stata: Base Mosaic! Svuota xorg.conf, nvidia x impostazioni server-> Abilita Mosaico di base, quindi abilita ogni display rilevato. Funziona tutto! veloce apparentemente multi-gpu, configurazione multi-monitor multi-testa con 1 xscreen! I miei 3 display hanno risoluzioni diverse e uno è ruotato in verticale. Anche le impostazioni di Ubuntu - Display mostra correttamente tutti e 3 i monitor.

Suggerisco di aggiornare ai driver proprietari nvidia 331.28, spegnere xorg.conf e provare di nuovo Mosaic di base.

Questa discussione mi ha aiutato molto, ma ci sono stati molti più passaggi rispetto a quanto descritto nella risposta, quindi ho pensato di lasciare un commento con i passaggi dettagliati che hanno funzionato per me.

1. Utilizzare l'app "Driver Manger" in "Impostazioni di sistema" per selezionare "nvidia-346" come driver (non "nvidia-346-updates"). Fai clic su "Applica modifiche". Una volta che l'applicazione ha terminato l'elaborazione non accadrà nulla (nulla verrà installato, non verrà visualizzato alcun prompt, non verrà visualizzato alcun messaggio). Riavvia il computer (questo è necessario perché il driver di NVIDIA modifica apparentemente il kernel e solo un riavvio completo del sistema farà passare l'installazione).
2. Quando Linux Mint verrà avviato dopo il riavvio, Cinnamon verrà interrotto e funzioneranno solo 2 monitor. Non preoccuparti di provare a risolvere Cinnamon, questo ti condurrà solo lungo un percorso di installazioni inutili.
3. Avvia l'app "Terminale". Questo sarà complicato quando Cinnamon si romperà perché "Terminale" è misteriosamente mancante dall'elenco Applicazioni nella barra delle applicazioni! E anche il clic con il tasto destro sul desktop è interrotto. L'unico modo che ho trovato per avviarlo è utilizzare la scorciatoia creata nel passaggio 1 o utilizzare la scorciatoia da tastiera Alt + F2. Quando viene visualizzata una finestra che richiede di digitare un comando da eseguire, utilizzare "sudo ls" e selezionare la casella di controllo "Usa terminale". All'avvio di un terminale, utilizzare la scorciatoia da tastiera Ctrl + Maiusc + T per aprire una nuova scheda del terminale. Ora puoi chiudere la scheda originale in attesa della tua password sudo. (Dovrai farlo ogni volta che vuoi avviare una nuova finestra del terminale).

4. Nel terminale, esegui questi comandi:

5. Riavvia il computer. Non esiste un pulsante UI per farlo, quindi dovrai eseguirlo sudo reboot.

6. Quando il computer si riavvia, le cose verranno comunque interrotte. Non sono sicuro dei passaggi 7 e 8. Potrebbero non essere necessari, ma l'ho fatto mentre cercavo di capire cosa non va, quindi includerli qui per ogni evenienza.

7. Quindi, corri sudo gedit /etc/default/grub. Nell'editor, trova la riga che lo definisce GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULTe modificalo in:
