Sto cercando di installare git. Eseguo il seguente comando:

sudo apt-get install git-core git-gui git-doc

Ma ricevi il seguente errore: sudo: apt-get: command not found

Dato che stai usando CentOS 5, il gestore pacchetti predefinito è yumno apt-get. Per installare un programma che lo utilizza, normalmente si utilizza il seguente comando:

$ sudo yum install <packagename>

Tuttavia, quando provi a installare git in questo modo, riscontrerai il seguente errore su CentOS 5:

$ sudo yum install git
Setting up Install Process
Parsing package install arguments
No package git available.
Nothing to do

Questo ti dice che i repository di pacchetti che sono a yumconoscenza non contengono gli rpms richiesti (file di Gestione pacchetti RPM) da installare git. Ciò è presumibilmente perché CentOS 5 si basa su RHEL 5, che è stato rilasciato nel 2007, prima che gitfosse considerato un sistema di controllo versione maturo. Per ovviare a questo problema, è necessario aggiungere ulteriori repository all'elenco che yumutilizza (aggiungeremo il repository RPMforge, secondo queste istruzioni ).

Questo presuppone che tu voglia i pacchetti i386. Test eseguendo uname -i. Se si desidera i pacchetti x86_64, sostituire tutte le occorrenze di i386 con x86_64 nei seguenti comandi

E ora dovremmo essere in grado di installare git:

yumelaborerà le dipendenze e ti chiederà nei punti pertinenti se vuoi procedere. Premere yper Sì e no returnper No.

Sembra che packages.sw.beora sia morto. Sta scadendo.

È un peccato :( Se qualcuno sa altrove da dove è possibile ottenere quel numero di giri, sarebbe bello aggiornare la risposta, anche se dato che CentOS 6 è in circolazione dal 2011 e git era disponibile nel repository predefinito, si spera che diventerà meno e meno problemi per le persone nel tempo.

@LucyWeatherford Sembra che tu non stia usando una distro relativa a Debian, quindi un modo semplice per trovare la distro che stai facendo è eseguire lsb_release -ala giusta distro che stai facendo ti dirà quale gestore di pacchetti è disponibile, ad esempio YUM e RPM se ' stai usando Red Hat o CentOS.

@LucyWeatherford Leggi [link] centos.org/docs/4/html/yum/sn-managing-packages.html devi capire le basi della gestione dei pacchetti con YUM se il tuo background è APT troverai le equivalenze tra i comandi ad es. apt-get install <package_name>diventa yum install <package_name>consapevole del fatto che diverse distribuzioni hanno nomi di pacchetti diversi.

Se sei disposto a costruire Git da fonti, potrebbe essere utile quanto segue. Sono script di compilazione di Noloader Github | Build-Scripts . Li uso per vecchi sistemi operativi, come CentOS 5 e una scheda di sviluppo ci20 MIPS. Le distro non mantengono più i repository, quindi questo è l'unico modo affidabile per aggiornare il software. Gli script sono utili anche per i nuovi sistemi operativi, come Solaris, poiché Oracle vuole che tu acquisti un contratto di servizio per ottenere gli aggiornamenti.
