Ottengo questo errore quando eseguo qualsiasi comando systemd come utente:
admin@Xroklaus:~ $ systemctl --user list-units
Failed to get D-Bus connection: Connection refused
Senza il parametro utente, il comando viene eseguito correttamente.
admin@Xroklaus:~ $ systemctl list-units

E Dbus è in esecuzione.
admin@Xroklaus:~ $ ps -ef | grep dbus

Systemd non sembra essere in esecuzione per questo utente
admin@Xroklaus:~ $ ps -ef | grep systemd
root 142 1 0 Jan06 ? 00:00:08 /lib/systemd/systemd-journald

Non so come farlo funzionare comunque.
Neanche questo sembra normale:
admin@Xroklaus:~ $ systemd --test
Trying to run as user instance, but $XDG_RUNTIME_DIR is not set.
